SEO prepares a site for search, AEO makes information easier to answer from, and GEO focuses on discovery of a business and its content within generated answers. The work overlaps. None guarantees indexing, recommendations or citations.
What changes in the actual work?
SEO work reviews crawler access, important pages, titles, redirects and content. AEO asks whether a reader can find a direct answer about the service, scope and price or pricing method. GEO considers whether the business identity, services and supporting evidence are clear and consistent.
For example, a company website design page needs a precise title and canonical URL, answers about pages, languages and handover, and a clear provider identity supported by useful guides. These are connected improvements to the same page, not three separate websites.
Where should you start?
- If pages are not eligible for indexing: check access, response status, indexing directives and canonical URLs.
- If the service is vague: explain who it serves, what is included and how a customer enquires.
- If business information conflicts: align names, contacts and service descriptions across the site, profile and official accounts.
- If the foundations are sound: publish material that answers real customer questions, then compare observations over time.
What should a quotation specify?
Ask for the pages and languages covered, problems to resolve, writing and review responsibilities, and handover files. Useful deliverables may include a before-and-after audit, revised pages, an internal link map, structured-data checks and webmaster-tool steps.
A defined implementation project differs from ongoing publishing or monthly monitoring. A reference to basic SEO in a website package does not automatically include every activity. Use the website readiness checklist to turn the scope into reviewable tasks.
How should you interpret results?
A technical check passing, a page being indexed, a business being mentioned and its URL being cited are different observations. Record each with the date, query, platform and language. One answer is insufficient to rank suppliers or prove a service caused a recommendation.
A referral visit may be measurable when the platform sends referral information and the measurement setup permits it. No recorded visits does not prove there were no mentions; a mention without a link does not prove the website was used as a source.
Is special AI markup or a file required?
Google describes eligibility for its AI search features in terms of search fundamentals, without a required special AI file or schema. An optional llms.txt directory can help readers find material, but does not replace page content, robots.txt or a sitemap and does not guarantee adoption or rankings.
FAQs remain useful when they answer genuine customer questions. We do not treat adding FAQ markup as a promise of a special search appearance.
